26 лютого 2016 р. у Ванкувері відбудеться показ фільму “Добровольці Божої чоти” (в іноземних перекладах — «The Ukrainians»). Це повнометражний документальний фільм Леоніда Кантера та Івана Яснія про захисників Донецького аеропорту. Фільм — історія творення нової української армії.
Фільм щедро насичений гумором. У фільмі знімалися воїни ДУК (Дмитро Ярош, «Гатило» (Валерій Чоботарь), «Богема» (Андрій Шараскін — театральний режисер), «Чуб» та інші). Серед героїв фільму сімох уже немає в живих. Музика: гурт Кому Вниз та Олексій Бик. Кінцева фраза фільму вже стала популярною цитатою:”Люди витримали, не витримав бетон”
На показ до Ванкуверу завітають обидва режисери фільму, один із “кіборгів” та музикант Фома. Показ фільму у Ванкувері координує Фундація Кленова Надія. Ініціаторами показу фільму у Ванкувері стали українські студенти, Антон Перепелиця та Олександра Горбачева, що навчаються в Технологічному Інституті Британської Колумбії.

Canadian Movie Tour 2015: The Ukrainians (Добровольці Божої Чоти)
A fundraiser hosted by Dopomoha Ukraini to benefit soldiers in Ukraine focuses on psychological healing, physical recuperation, and reintegration into society. The full cost of one session ranges between US$ 15,000 and US$ 20,000, depending on the number of participants. The first session of the program ran from September 28 to October 4, 2015 and was held in partnership with Wounded Warrior Ukraine, a project of Healing War Scars, a US-registered non-profit.

“The Ukrainians” (“Добровольці Божої Чоти”), a film by Ukrainian directors Leonid Kanter and Ivan Yasniy, is a gripping documentary about the volunteer battalions of Ukraine and the fight for Ukraine’s independence in 2014. It includes incredible, shocking first-hand footage from the infamous battle at Donetsk Airport and the legendary soldiers that heroically defended the airport and Ukraine.
The event includes the movie screening (82 mins.), a Q&A session with the film’s directors and a hero defender of Donetsk Airport, and a short musical performance by Serhiy “Foma” Fomenko.
The event is organized by Dopomoha Ukraini – Aid Ukraine and Path to Freedom. The tour is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to support Dopomoha Ukraini’s Psychological Rehabilitation Program for Ukrainian Soldiers in western Ukraine and “Path to Freedom”, a travelling exhibition dedicated to Ukraine’s Maidan Revolution of Dignity organized by Ukrainian activist musician Serhiy “Foma” Fomenko.
Screening in Vancouver is hosted by local charity organization – Maple Hope Foundation. Special thanks goes to Ukrainian students, Anton Perepelytsia and Oleksandra Gorbacheva for organising this special event at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
