Newcomers Venture Project

What is it?

The Newcomers Venture Project is a non-profit program run by BCIT business students. The idea behind this project is to help small local businesses improve by helping create professional business plans and teaching key entrepreneurial skills. The goal is to help newcomers create a sustainable future that will continue for the long term. By the end of the program, participants are expected to learn all the necessary basics of business so that they can continue growing once the workshops have ended.

What’s the catch?

There is no catch to the Newcomers Venture Project! This is merely a great opportunity for students to practice what they are learning and to help those who will benefit from it most. The only thing we ask is to provide the program with feedback, testimonials, and the results of your improvement (in sales volume, revenues, employee growth, etc.)  so that we can measure our impact.

What you will get out of the Newcomers Venture Project:

7. A deliverable business plan built from start to finish

What is the time commitment ?

1. 1-2 hours every week for the workshops

2. 5+ hours altogether for extra help outside of the workshops, to build your business plan and to prepare for a business presentation

1. Newcomers with a business idea looking to launch a business

2. Newcomers with a small business seeking to improve business plan and entrepreneurial skills
