15-го липня у церкві Святого Петра і Павла відбулось Храмове Свято. Декілька років тому храм в місті Нью Весмінстер (Vancouver) перейшов під Київский Патріархат. Це сталося в результаті деструктивної політики консисторії, що не сприяла діяльності та розвитку цієї церкви. Прийняте рішення виявилось цілком оправданим , особливо в теперішньому часі, коли українська православна церква Київського Патріархату набуває все більшого авторитету серед православних церков.
Зазвичай, святкування припадають на 12-го липня – день Великомучеників Святих Петра і Павла, але цього року урочистості перенесли на вихідні. Урочисту службу українською мовою відправив отець Віталій. Після служби прихожан пригостили святковим обідом. За столом пропонували борщ, вареники, голубці та інші традиційні страви. Після чого відбувся невеликий концерт, де звучали вірші, які читала пані Віра Борисюк; пісні у виконанні молодої співачки Марічки; класичні твори та українські пісні у виконанні талановитої скрипачки Ельвіри Восканян.
Церква Святого Петра і Павла в Нью Вестмінстері (Vancouver) ось уже більше 5 років відправляє служби тільки українською мовою, що створює особливу атмосферу. З року в рік все більше прихожан і гостей храму обирають саме цю церкву, оскільки, тут присутнє відчуття дому – України.

The first Kyivan Patriarchate Ukrainian church in Canada celebrates its Saints’ Feast (2018)
The Saints’ Feast of the St. Peter and Paul’s Church was celebrated on the 15th of July this year. Some years ago, the church in New Westminster, BC (a suburb of Vancouver) switched to the Kyivan Patriarchate. This action was in response to the destructive policies of the Orthodox Consistoria which would not support the activities and development of this parish. This decision has proved itself to be timely and prescient in light of the fact that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate has been gaining ever greater respect among World Orthodoxy.
Customarily, the feast would take place on July 12 – the Saints day of the Martyrs St. Peter and Paul, but this year the festivities were moved to a weekend. The solemn Service was conducted by Fr. Vitaliy. Afterwards the faithful enjoyed a festive dinner of borshch, varenyky, holubtsi, and other traditional courses. This was followed by a brief concert, consisting of poetry read by Mrs. Vira Borysiuk, songs sung by the young singer, Marichka, and classical music plus traditional pieces performed by the talented violinist, Elvira Voskanian.
For over 5 years now, Services in the Church of St. Peter and Paul of New Westminster BC are celebrated strictly in Ukrainian, creating a unique atmosphere. Year after year more and more faithful and guests chose this particular church, where they can feel at home as if back in Ukraine.
